NOMINATIONS are already being submitted for the Heart of Ulverston Awards to highlight the selfless hard work and efforts of incredible individuals and hero organisations in the town.
The popular awards are back this year following a highly successful re-launch in 2024 by Ulverston-based firm 32West - culminating in a glittering awards night and gala dinner at the Coronation Hall for finalists and their guests.
Now, people are being urged to nominate someone in the community whose actions help to make the town such a special place.
There are a wealth of categories to choose from and nominations take just a few minutes to complete. Each nomination will be judged on its own merit, so you only need to nominate someone once for their story to be considered by the steering group which features representatives from across the community.

Lisa Hudson, of headline sponsor Bender UK, said: "The Heart of Ulverston Awards is always something we have had a passion for, and we hope as many people as possible seize the opportunity to nominate friends, colleagues, neighbours and businesses for an award.
“We will be playing our part to raise awareness of the event to ensure as many people nominate as possible”
Those who spend their time helping others could be the perfect candidate for the Helping Hand Award, while the panel will be searching for an individual, business or organisation which has implemented impactful green or ethical changes for the new Environment and Sustainability Award.
And while Ulverston has many brilliant businesses, the search is on to find staff members who are exemplars in their role and exceed expectations for the Employee of the Year Award.
Jayne Moorby MBE, Head of Marketing at Oxley Group in Ulverston, sponsor of the Helping Hand Award, said: “The Helping Hands Award looks to recognise someone who dedicates their time to helping others, people nominated in this category are often unsung heroes and this is a great chance to recognise their important contribution.
“If you know someone with a ‘heart of gold’ why not put them forward and ensure the Ulverston community can recognise their kindness and commitment and say thank you for what they do.”
The awards categories also include:
Citizen of the Year
Community Group of the Year
Sports Volunteer of the Year
Best Hospitality Venue
Business in the Community
Teacher of the Year
Outstanding Courage
Sports Performance of the Year
Apprentice of the Year
Lifetime Achievement Award
