JUST hours remain to nominate Ulverston's community heroes for a prestigious award.
The Heart of Ulverston Awards 2025 offer a wide range of categories to recognise those who go the extra mile to do the south Cumbria town proud.
Now, people connected to Ulverston are urged to get their nominations in before the deadline of midnight on Friday, March 14 - when all submissions will be assembled to allow the judging process to take place.
Jan Hancock, of Ulverston BID - a headline sponsor of this year's awards and sponsor of the Outstanding Courage category - said: "This is an opportunity to recognise your friends, neighbours, local businesses or perhaps someone you have simply noticed making a difference on behalf of the community for some worthy recognition.
"Ulverston is renowned far and wide for its unique community spirit and strength, its fantastic business community and its commitment to the environment and sustainability.
"There’s no doubt that this is down to the people who live and work here - and we mustn't let their efforts go unnoticed.”

The 13 awards categories are:
Lifetime Achievement
Sports Performance of the Year
Employee of the Year
Teacher of the Year
Sports Volunteer of the Year
Community Group of the Year
Environment and Sustainability Award
Outstanding Courage Award
Best Hospitality Venue
Business in the Community
Citizen of the Year
Helping Hand Award
Apprentice of the Year
Making a nomination is easy and can be done via the Heart of Ulverston website: https://www.heartofulverston.co.uk/nominate
At the close of nominations, a panel of judges will meet to create a shortlist before selecting an eventual winner based on how closely each nomination matches the category criteria.
The finalists will then be invited to attend a glittering awards night and gala dinner in May, organised by Ulverston-based PR company 32West in conjunction with headline sponsors Ulverston BID, Siemens Energy and Bender UK.
Jan added: "If you know someone who deserves to be celebrated, make that nomination now. It's an easy process and it will make such a difference to the heroes of our town."
